The philosophy of the club TC EMPIRE Trnava is to establish a permanent and top-class team of trainers comprising of renowned trainers. The main priority of the club is to ensure the maintenance of a high-grade training regime under the supervision of well experienced trainers for all age and performance categories from amateur to professional players. Trainers' team consists of five tennis trainers, two fitness conditioning trainers and a physiotherapist. We provide a training regime for more than 200 players.

Rene Hanak

Born: 4.5.1973

Education:

  • certified coach of Czech Tennis Federation
  • speaks fluently English, Russian and Greek 

 

Major coaching achievements: 

  • after ending his career, he moved from Prerov to Ostrava
  • in Moravia, he coached Adam Vejmelka, who is as old as Tomas Berdych and in August 2007, youngster worked his way up the rankings onto No. 247
  • joined Bltc tennis club in Brno
  • co-operation with famous coach Jan Kukal in Slovakia
  • he was coaching in TK Slovan Bratislava club
  • after his return to Ostrava, he decided to move abroad
  • in 2009, he became the chief coach of tennis city club in Heraklion, Greece
  • in 2015, he became the coach in the EMPIRE Tennis Academy situated in Trnava 

 

Major player's achievements:

  • he was recognised as one of the best Czechoslovak junior tennis players in late 80s
  • won the national singles and doubles titles in under 14 and 16 categories
  • played the singles final of the famous Pardubice Junior Cup and won the doubles title there
  • since 14, he was regularly selected for Czechoslovak national teams
  • participant at junior Roland Garros and US Open - in Paris he reached the quarterfinals of doubles together with Pavel Gazda
  • in his junior times he beat such opponents like Russian Kafelnikov or Italian Gaudenzi
  • ATP career-high No. 349 in singles and No. 243 in doubles
  • in July 1996, he was sparring partner of Slovakian Davis Cup team when Slovakia won the match against Portugal 5-0, with Karol Kucera & Jan Kroslak, led by captain Miloslav Mecir, who was the one to invite Hanak practice with the team
  • his most valuable wins amongst men is triumph against German Rainer Schuttler (Australian Open 2003 finalist) in the 1st qualifying round of ATP event in Ostrava (1997)
  • in 1998, he won twice in the final of Umag’s satellite against Radek Stepanek, who was 19 at that time; they often used to play doubles together
  • he used to play doubles also with a former coach of Berdych, Tomas Krupa, with Karol Kucera, Branislav Galik and Igor Zelenay
