Without Jan Sabovcik, such Slovak players as Jana Cepelova or Schmiedlova sisters would not be where they are now. Well-known coach of talented young tennis players has become the new reinforcement of the EMPIRE Tennis Academy - a project of modern academy formed in Trnava.
These days, the members of our club are working on their fitness in Skalka near Kremnica, Slovakia. The third week of six-week cycle of preparation is the difficult one, confirms the head coach Miloslav Grolmus.
EMPIRE Trnava Tennis Club has begun to cooperate with one of the most successful Slovak coaches Vladimir Platenik
The coaching team in the club has been strengthened since September 1, 2014 by a coach who was working with top players of the WTA rankings. Vladimir Platenik (38) is going to help our young players and his wish is to help them the way he did when he had succeeded as a coach of Dominika Cibulkova in 2007 - 2009. He will participate in the preparation of the EMPIRE Tennis Academy which is also going to be a space for the development of talented foreign players.
The concept of the elite EMPIRE Tennis Academy turns into reality. After engaging an experienced coach Vladimir Platenik in our club, we have agreed to cooperate with Maros Molnar, who has lead fitness trainings of numerous well-known Slovak professional athletes, including hockey, tennis players and footballers.
The unseeded Slovakia girls team lost in the junior Fed Cup final to USA 0-3 but for tennis in Slovakia it's a great success. Tamara Kupkova from TC EMPIRE Trnava & EMPIRE Tennis Academy was the member of this team and when she returned from Mexico, she was at a press conference in Bratislava to describe how she feels about silver medal.
